Flatsmasters Qualifier.

The day started out early with a long run to our fishing spot. We saw a few fish to start off then working our way around the island ran into a nice school. We picked out both undersize and oversize fish. None in the slot. On our way back to Punta Gorda we stopped at one of my other spots and caught a nice slot sized fish. We ended up seventh in the qualifying teams and earned a spot in the Flatsmasters series for 08. There are alot of great teams and we are looking forward to fishing the series. Today I had a trip with Brian, Chase and Grandpa. The bait was plentiful again and the fish were biting. The trout bite was on this morning. After that we went snook and redfishing. We almost had a few backcountry slams today but some of the fish did not make it to the boat. No big deal. All and all had a great day. Stay tuned for more.

A bit breezy!

It was a bit breezy today but the fish are still biting. The bait has been filtering in the pass lately. They have been very nice greenbacks for this time of year. I am still throwing artificial in the morning then swithching to live bait in the afternoon when the tide comes up. We have been catching some nice snook and reds over the past week.
